|About the Boutique|
Designing Women Boutique was conceived as a way to create an ongoing revenue stream to benefit the community – an alternative to the one day or night events that populate the Sarasota social calendar. The business is run by Business Development Director Pamela Day, supported by a corps of talented, committed volunteers and staff, and a committed Board of Trustees.
Designing Women Boutique sells consigned, donated and new women’s fashion, accessories, jewelry, furs, as well as an extensive inventory of home furnishings. Merchandise comes in daily, from individuals who have a few select pieces, or from those who need to downsize or liquidate their estates. The Estates and Downsizing Division offers full concierge service to ensure the highest prices for clients’ treasured belongings. Click Here For Information on DWB’s Estates Services.
The boutique’s specialty is the widest selection of designer fashion in town at prices that are hard to beat. Many of Sarasota’s best-dressed, who shop the U.S. from coast-to-coast as well as abroad, happily consign or donate their high-end collections that they no longer wear – some have never been worn and come in to the shop with original price tags attached. Designers typically include Armani, Fendi, Hermes, Vera Wang, Manolo Blahnik, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Valentino, as well as new cutting edge fashion from boutique designers across the globe.
In addition to receiving merchandise from others, DWB also sells new merchandise purchased in New York, and the shop is well known for their exquisite and affordable gowns as well as pashmina shawls in brilliant patterns and colors.
The other component of Designing Women Boutique’s mission is the ongoing fundraising through day and evening Special Events that are held throughout the year to ensure a continuous revenue stream into their grant program. These events are organized and managed through DWB’s Ambassadors’ Guild, the Designing Daughters, and the organization at large.
