WHAT WE DO

Designing Women Boutique sells consigned and donated women's apparel, accessories, jewelry and furs plus home furnishing accent pieces, accessories and antiques. Our specialty is the widest selection of designer clothes in town at prices that are hard to beat. In 2008, we opened a unique shop-within-our-shop - a Couture Salon where we display our choicest apparel and accessories for day and evening.  We are especially pleased to announce that we are now the exclusive Sarasota representative for renowned designer Joan McGee.  We expect to maintain a choice selection of her exceptional designs in our shop at new, lower pricing.

Many of Sarasota's best dressed, who shop the U.S. from coast-to-coast as well as abroad, happily consign or donate things they no longer wear or their shopping "mistakes" (many items come into the shop unworn, original price tags attached). Designers typically in stock may include Armani, Burberry, Chanel, Escada, Fendi, Ferragamo, Louis Feraud, Donna Karan, Dana Buchman and that Sarasota favorite, St. John.

We also sell new merchandise purchased in New York by our founders and friends who have a unique understanding of what Sarasota women need, want and most like to wear! We are best known for beautiful gowns at reasonable prices (most under $400), purses inspired by Chanel, Prada, Gucci and others, and pashmina shawls in brilliant patterns and colors.

The boutique has very high standards for what we accept for resale. We take donations at any time during business hours and consignments, clothing and furniture, by appointment. Learn more about consigning and donating.

Designing Women Boutique is known for our fashion shows and other events. Our major annual show benefits our Capital Campaign. Our monthly Salon Series – lunch, lecture and mini-fashion show – is a Sarasota favorite and the best bargain in town for only $14 per person. We also collaborate on benefit fashion shows for other non-profits, which have included Art Center Sarasota, Beth Israel Women, Guardian Ad Litem and Planned Parenthood.
